AxMail

Terms of Service

Last updated 30 July 2026

These terms cover your use of AxMail, an email client published by Norsou (org. no. 934788680), Skovveien 1, 0257 Oslo, Norway — the business behind the QNgin brand ("QNgin", "we", "us"). By installing or using AxMail you accept them. They are short because AxMail is a program you run yourself, not a service we operate on your behalf.

What AxMail is

AxMail is software that runs on your device and connects to mail accounts you already have. QNgin does not provide the mail accounts, does not host your mail, and is not a party to your relationship with your mail provider. Your provider's own terms continue to govern your account with them.

AxMail is provided free of charge.

Software still in development

AxMail is at version 0.7 and is still being actively developed. Features may change or be withdrawn, and faults are more likely than in mature software. Do not rely on AxMail alone for mail you cannot afford to miss or lose until you have satisfied yourself that it works for your situation. Your mail also remains on your provider's server, which is your safety net.

Your licence

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, revocable licence to install and use AxMail on devices you control, for as long as you comply with these terms. That is all it is: the software remains ours, and nothing here transfers ownership or grants rights to our name or logo.

Unless we say otherwise in writing, you may not sell AxMail, present it as your own, or remove its branding.

Your responsibilities

Your data and your mail

Your mail is yours. AxMail stores its working copy on your device and sends nothing to QNgin. How this works in detail is set out in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.

Keeping backups is your responsibility. AxMail's local database is a cache of your mailbox, not an archive of it, and it can be lost if your device is lost, reset or fails.

Third-party services

AxMail connects to services you choose. Those services are operated by other companies under their own terms and privacy policies, and QNgin is not responsible for them, for their availability, or for what they do with what you send them.

This includes the optional AI features. If you enable them you supply your own API key and contract directly with Anthropic, OpenAI or Google; their terms govern that use, and you are responsible for any charges they bill you. AI output can be wrong or misleading — check anything that matters before you act on it or send it.

AxMail includes open-source components, each under its own licence. Those licences continue to apply to those components and nothing here overrides them.

Availability and updates

We may release updates that add, change or remove features, and we may stop publishing AxMail altogether. We are under no obligation to provide support, updates or continued availability, though we intend to.

Feedback

If you send us a suggestion, we may use it to improve AxMail without obligation or payment to you. You keep any rights you already had in it; you are simply not charging us for the idea.

No warranty

AxMail is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including any warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement. We do not warrant that AxMail will be free of faults, that it will run without interruption, or that mail will always be delivered, received, synchronised or displayed correctly.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, QNgin is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for lost data, lost profits, lost business, or missed or misdirected communications, arising out of your use of AxMail.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected by anything in this section.

Age

AxMail is not intended for children under 13, and you should not use it if you are under that age.

Ending these terms

You may stop using AxMail at any time by uninstalling it. We may end your right to use AxMail if you materially breach these terms. The sections on warranty, liability and governing law survive that ending.

Changes to these terms

We may change these terms. If we do, we will update the date at the top of this page, and material changes will be signalled in the app. Continuing to use AxMail after a change means you accept the revised terms; if you do not accept them, uninstall the app.

General

If any provision of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest continues in force. Our not enforcing a provision on one occasion does not waive it. You may not transfer your rights under these terms; we may transfer ours as part of a reorganisation or sale of the business. Together with the Privacy Policy, these terms are the whole agreement between us about AxMail.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Norway, and the courts of Norway have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of your country of residence and may bring proceedings there.
